Do you pierce?

I do not offer piercing at this time!

How old do I have to be to be tattooed by Amanda?

While the state of New Jersey allows minors to be tattooed at age 16 with certain documentation and parental consent, I have opted not to tattoo minors. I am happy to discuss potential tattoo plans and projects with minors as they approach their 18th birthday!

Can I bring the kids?

My current studio space is an adult environment, and doesn’t have much by way of entertainment for young visitors, and houses lots of breakable and delicate items! Because we like to keep a safe, clean and distraction-free environment, we ask that guests leave young children at home!

How should I prepare for my tattoo appointment?

*Get a good night’s sleep!

*Eat a good meal!

*Do not arrive intoxicated- I will not tattoo you!

*Don’t smoke beforehand- it will likely cause you to hyper-focus on any discomfort rather than relax you!

*Bring a distraction! This can be a book, a game on your phone, a movie or show you’re streaming, a friend (just one though- our space is small), or feel free to talk my ear off! Whatever works for you!

*Bring a sugary/carb-y snack and drink; getting tattooed puts physical stress on your body and causes you to burn calories- replace them!

*Grab a shower! I know, I shouldn’t have to say it, but I will. I’m going to be practically hugging you for a few hours- be kind!

*If you’re feeling sick, EMAIL me- we’ll reschedule. I always check emails from clients leading up to appointments and minitor them day-of.

*Take into account your artist’s hourly rate and the duration of your sit ($)!

*Wear the right clothes! What do I mean? Firstly, wear clothing that makes the area you are about to tattoo accessible: bring/wear shorts for a thigh tattoo, or wear a loose top if we’re tattooing the back of your shoulder! Secondly, wear clothing that will slip on comfortably after your tattoo. Think sweatpants, loose clothing, and clothes that won’t rub. Lastly, wear clothing that you wouldn’t mind getting a bit of ink on! I try to keep you clean, but ink spots happen. Wear layers- some people get warm once a tattoo starts, some people get cold.

*Try to come in with your closest to normal skin tone as possible! I understand it is hard during the summer months tanning and being in the sun, but please keep in mind any tan/dark coloring will affect the skin and how it heals! Sunburn, not matter how minor, should not be tattooed over. (Keep in mind - you MUST let your artist know if any rash or sunburn that happens following your tattoo as well, not just before!)

*I CANNOT tattoo anyone with rashes, bruises, acne or scratches on the place where you will be tattooed (as per the health department), so please make sure to come in with your skin in good condition!

How do I make an appointment?

Whether you’re a new client of mine or a long standing client looking for a new piece, the preferred way to get on the calendar is to book a consultation. Don’t email me if you can help it.

I am a one-person operation, and the lag time in trying to “consult” via email, even for something simple, and get it on the calendar has become too drawn out a process, and I’d like to not put you through it if I can help it! I’ve added a link (above) whereby you can tell me about what you’d like to do, then schedule yourself to pop by and see me, where we can work out details and get you on my calendar. This is so much quicker than trying to book or discuss via email.

If you live out of state, or you live very far from my studio, we can consult via email, but please be patient as this can take much back-and-forth.

If you’re from out of state, and you’d like to make an appointment for a tattoo while you’re in town, feel free to email me 2 or 3 month ahead so I can be sure to get you in on the day you need!

Does your studio space allow animals?

I can not permit animals inside my space apart from registered service animals, which must remain just outside the tattoo workspace and be accompanied by another person; these mandates are maintained by the New Jersey Department of Health!
